Bhutan Tour 5N 6D offers the amazing tour through the hidden gems of ancient Bhutan. We can reach Bhutan either from Kathmandu or other places of origin via a flight to Paro. The tour begins the next day of arrival. Driving towards Thimphu’s most popular monasteries, art school, institution, national libraries, etc. acquaint us with the ancient art, architecture, cultures and religions of the Buddhist in Bhutan. The tour drive continues to Punakha, via Dochula Pass, the vantage point for the stunning mountain peaks. We get back to Paro and visit the villages and the most popular Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang Monastery). The tour offers much more insight into the ancient Buddhist in Bhutan and the modern perspective. The holidays in Bhutan concludes with an amazing trans-Himalayan flight to Kathmandu or towards your destination. 

  • Day 1 Arrive at Paro. Drive to Thimphu (D): (1:15 mins)

    Either the flight from Kathmandu along with the great Himalayan range or over the green terrains, the flight in Druk Air to Paro offers one of the stunning mountain flights we will get. It takes an average 1:15 mins flight from Kathmandu to Paro, Bhutan. Upon arrival, our representative will pick us up from the arrival and transfer us to the hotel at Thimphu, around 1:15 mins drive. Check-in at the hotel and get refreshed. Rest is leisure time.

  • Day 2 Full day sightseeing in Thimphu.

    After breakfast at the hotel, we will get out for a sightseeing drive at Thimphu. We will visit Trashichhoe Dzong (2500m), the summer residence of Je Khenpo- the Chief Abbot, is an attractive medieval fortress or monastery housing the room of King’s Throne and most of the Government offices. We then visit the National Library where an enormous collection of ancient Buddhist texts and manuscripts are preserved.

    Next visit is at Arts & Crafts School- where students produce a complex and attractive design on clothes using the traditional Thangka arts and paintings.

    After lunch, visit Handicrafts Emporium- where we can see the display of a wide variety of pretty handwoven and crafted products. We then proceed to Handicrafts Emporium, the stupa built in the memory of Bhutan’s Third King- the Father of modern Bhutan. The Chorten secures the paintings and statues inside treasuring a deep philosophical insight amongst Buddhist.

  • Day 3 Drive from Thimphu to Punakha (75 Km, 3 Hours)


    After breakfast, we will drive to Punakha with a short layover at Dochula pass (3080m) to enjoy the view of Chorten, mani wall, and prayer flags beautifying the highest point along the road. From this vantage, during clear day we can enjoy the stunning vistas of peaks like (from left to right): Masagang (7158m), Tsendagang (6960m), Terigang (7060m), Jejegangphugang (7158m), Kangphugang (7170m), Zongphugang (7060m) and lastly Gangkar Puensum (7497m), the highest peak in Bhutan.

    Thimphu to Punakha is around 2.5 – 3 hours drive. Upon arrival at Punakha, our tour continues towards the most popular Punakha Dzong, located at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the strategical built with historical significance is to serve as the religious and administrative center of the region. Despite the peril of the four catastrophic fires and an earthquake, the Dzong has already been revived.

    We will then drive to Wangdue Phodrang where we will visit the Dzong and the local market mostly popular for its bamboo products, slates and stone carvings.

  • Day 4 Drive from Punakha to Paro (125 Km, 4 Hours)

    After breakfast, we will drive to Paro. The straight drive takes around 3:15 mins. But en route to the south of Thimphu, we will visit Simtokha Dzong. This is the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627, which now houses the School for religious studies for Buddhist.

    In the afternoon, we will arrive in Paro and visit the National Museum of Bhutan, also known as Ta Dzong. The dzong, since 1967, is serving as the National Museum preserving exquisite assemblage of art, artifacts, thangkha paintings and the nation’s beautiful postal stamps. The dzong was originally built as Watch Tower.

    To the southwest, downhill is Rinpung Dzong. We will walk down there. The first spiritual and temporal ruler named Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal built the dzong in 1646. The Dzong is now housing the monastic body of Paro, the office of the Dzongda (which is the district administrative head) and Thrimpon (the judge) of Paro district.

  • Day 5 Paro Sightseeing. (5-6 hours)

    After breakfast, we will drive north of Paro valley to Drukgyel Dzong. This is now ruined fort but preserved for the Bhutanese historical significance, from where they compelled most of the invasions of Tibetan convoy to retreat from the country. Neighboring is a traditional Bhutanese Farm House which offers a good insight into the lifestyle of local people. We then visit there.

    Now the time has come to visit the most famous Bhutanese monastery- the Taktsang Monastery. When it comes to a tour to Bhutan, there is always a talk-of-the-tourist, the “Tiger’s Nest”. This is it! Date back to the ancient history, it is said that Guru Rinpoche riding on the back of a tigress arrived at this place meditated at this monastery, from where the place got its name.

    We will return to Paro after excursion, but en route, we will visit the town and proceed to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom. Next, the drive is finally back to the hotel and some rest and refreshment.

    After breakfast, drive to Paro International Airport for our final return departure flight to Kathmandu or to your onward destination.
