The Kailash Mansarovar Heli Tour 8N 9D Itinerary starts from Kathmandu, Nepal. Flying to Nepalgunj and Simikot via airplane and to Hilsa via helicopter, adding a short walk will take us to the northwestern border of Nepal-Tibet. With 1-hour drive from the border, we reach Taklakot. Further drive will take us to one of the stunning places situated at the northwest of Nepal in Tibetan Plateau, the holy Lake Mansarovar (4560m). The first part completes with a dip/bathe, worshipping (puja) and circumambulating this majestic holy lake which is also the main purpose of the travelers here, besides snapping the vistas.
The next part of the tour is a Kora (circumambulation) of Mt. Kailash (6638m), which will start from Tarboche (Yama-Dwar/ Yama-Sthal), a further westward drive from Darchen. It takes 3 days to complete Kora with 5-6 hours walk a day, where the trail takes us as high as 5,800m- the stunning Dolma La Pass. The trek ends after descending to the Barga plain at a pickup point from where we take a ride back to Taklakot and to the border. We will reach Hilsa for a Heli-ride back to Simikot, where we will catch a flight to Nepalgunj and fly back to Kathmandu. Next day is a return and we follow the same route of arrival while heading back to Kathmandu with a few night halts en route. This Kailash Mansarovar Tour is easy and suits everyone, while some might find it moderate/hard due to Kora of Mt. Kailash. However, one can always skip the Kora part and drive up to Darchen or Tarboche for proximity view of beautiful Mt. Kailash and return to stay at Lake Mansarovar enjoying the place.
