This Kailash Mansarovar Tour 11N 12D program is one of the most talk-of-the-town tours amongst all travelers, devotees, pilgrims, and adventurers. The reason behind is the location, nature and the legendary significance. In the far-flung corner of the western Tibet, neighboring the northwestern Nepalese border, a highly revered lake called Lake Mansarovar holds serenely its purity consecrating the devotees, pilgrims, believers- all visitors who take a dip into this Lake at 4550m, one of the highest altitude lakes. The Kora (circumambulation) of this lake takes around two hours walk but is done in a vehicle mostly to expedite the trip and get enough rest at this stunning place.

To the northwest of the holy lake, there stands a legendary abode of God- Lord Shiva, known as Mt. Kailash (Kailash Parwat) at 6638m. Devout pilgrims, travelers visit Mt. Kailash by performing Kora (circumambulation) as deep respect they offer to the Lord. The Kora of Mt. Kailash is one of the most prominent destinations in the Kailash Mansarovar Tour. Beside religious significance, travelers complete the Kora to have a lifetime experience as well. This part of the tour involves trekking for 3 days for a minimum 5-6 hours per day, reaching as high up as 5260m- the Dolma La Pass.

Basically, this tour starts from Kathmandu, on a road trip to Rasuwagadhi (Nepal-Tibet border), cross border clearing the immigration and customs formalities, the journey continues to Kerung with daybreak for acclimatization and continues again towards Saga to reach Mansarovar. The drive towards northwest to Darchen, also known as the Base Camp of Mt. Kailash, and 30 mins. drive up towards northwest takes to Yama Dwar, in Tibetan- Tarboche. This is the Gateway to the Mt. Kailash and the trek starts from here. With 2-days night halts at Dira Phuk and Zuthul Phuk, on the third, there will be a pick up from the ending point at the base, followed by a return drive to Saga via the same route to Kerung and Kathmandu.

This Kailash and Mansarovar tour, journey to the holy Lake Mansarovar and the legendary Mount Kailash is one of the most ideal trips for travelers seeking to explore the great Himalayan vistas with spiritual values. Anyone can join this trip and if someone wants to skip the trekking part, is possible and can choose to spend more nights beside the turquoise lake as well.
