Kalinchowk Tour 1N 2D Itinerary highlights the vista of mountains like Annapurna, Lamjung, Manaslu, Ganesh, Shisha Panga, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, Jugal, Gauri Shankar and many more. The stunning sunset and sunrise views are another never to miss attractions. This short trip to Kalinchowk starts from Kathmandu and scales the road towards east via Araniko Highway. We will leave the highway from Khadichaur and proceed to Charikot towards the southeast, from where we again take a sharp turn towards left on the northeast off-road to Kalinchowk. Under the hill of Kalinchowk is a small beautiful village- Kuri. This is the place where we will spend the night. The next day early morning, we hike to Kalinchowk Mandir (Temple) and return. The next destination on our return is Dolakha Bhimsen Mandir, which is a short drive away from Charikot. The trip will conclude after the arrival in Kathmandu, drop off point. As we traverse through the Dolakha region, we will find it immensely blessed with an exceptional geographical appearance. Let’s take a look at the detailed itinerary below. 

  • Day 1 Kathmandu to Kuri Village (3450m): Drive 7-8 hours, 150km.

    Early morning, we gather at the meeting/pick up point in Kathmandu. Since this is going to be a long day drive, we will depart from Kathmandu at around 06:30 AM to reach our destination on time. We will be driving towards east and northeast of Kathmandu via Araniko Highway until Khadichaur (79km, 2.5-3 hrs. drive). But before Khadichaur, we pull over at River Bay Resort at Sukute (72km, 2hrs. drive) for lunch.

    After lunch, we will continue to Khadichaur from where, turning right towards southeast we will intercept Lamosangu-Ramechhap Highway, we continue on this highway until Charikot (54km, 2-3hours). From Charikot, we will take a left sharp turn towards north to follow Kalinchowk Road to reach Kuri village which is around 17km and 1.5-2 hours of drive away. At around 6:00 PM in the evening, we will arrive at Kuri Village. Upon arrival, we will check-in at the hotel and get refreshed with some rest.

    Later, there will be a Campfire and Snacks with free dance program at the hotel. Enjoy the evening!

  • Day 2 Visit Kalinchowk Temple (3842m). Visit Dolkha Bhimsen Temple(1980). Back to Kathmandu. Drive 7-8 hours

    Wake up early in the morning at 4:00 AM and get refreshed. We will walk for about 1.5 hours uphill from Kuri to Kalinchowk temple at the hilltop at 3842m. At the Kalinchowk Temple, we will complete our pray and worshipping program. Enjoy the sunrise and the stunning mountain views from Kalinchowk. We will climb down back to the hotel by 8:00 AM for breakfast.

    Our next destination is Dolakha Bhimsen Mandir at Charikot (1980m). We will drive the same route until Charikot and take a right turn towards east on Charikot-Lamabagar Road. From Kuri, the holy temple is at a distance of 22km and around 2 hours of drive. We complete our pray and worship at the Dolakha temple and return to Charikot to have some lunch. After lunch in the afternoon, we will drive back to Kathmandu via the same route we had arrived. We will arrive at Kathmandu in the evening and drop off at the same pickup point.

    This ends our short pilgrimage and scenic tour to Kalinchowk.
