Since this is going to be a full day drive, the early the better! We will depart from Kathmandu at 5:30 AM so that we can reach Surkhet on time. Kathmandu to Surkhet is 605 kilometers drive away and it will take around 13 hours of driving to reach. We will have breakfast and lunch on the way.
At first, we will exit via Nagdhunga west of Kathmandu exit following Prithivi Highway until Mugling (111km, 3 hours). Then, head south towards Narayanghat-Mugling Highway until Pulchowk, Narayanghat (36km, 1 hour) to join the East-West (E-W) Highway turning westward to the right. We will continue the E-W highway via Butwal until we reach Kohalpur (351km, 7 hours). From Kohalpur roundabout, we will turn right towards north on to Nepalgunj-Surkhet road, tracking towards Surkhet (87km, 2 hours). We finally arrive at Surkhet and check-in at the hotel. Get refreshed and some rest. This has been a long day; we will take dinner and stay overnight at the hotel in Surkhet.
