Tibet EBC (Everest Base Camo) Tour 8N 9D Itinerary

Tibet EBC (Everest Base Camp) Tour 8N 9D offers you to travel to the unique destination- Tibet/Lhasa, either via Nepal or from Tibet and return through both the options. This tour package, however, starts with a drive from Kathmandu crossing the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi and reach Kerung/Kyirong. Then, the drive from Kerung continues to the southeast through the beautiful friendship highway of Tibetan Plateau. We will arrive at New Tingri/Shegar (4050m) for a night halt. Next day, the drive continues towards the southern road to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) in Tibet, and reach EBC via hiking from Rongbuk Monastery, the highest in the world. We will enjoy the view of the Himalayas in EBC. Later, we head back to Shigatse (4050m) through the highest mountain passes Gyatso La (5200m) and Tsola (4500m) and through beautiful villages. From Shigatse, we will continue towards Gyantse (3950m), visiting different monasteries. Lastly, we will drive to Lhasa via 3 big mountain passes, Simila, Karo La, Kampa La and explore Yamduk Lake and Karo la Glacier, before reaching Lhasa. In Lhasa, we will have a two days tour at different ancient architectures, temples, monasteries and villages. The tour concludes on return via a flight to Kathmandu or towards your further destination.   • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

    The first day is the day you arrive at the Land of The Himalayas-Nepal. You will be landing at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu. We cordially welcome you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel in Kathmandu. After your hotel check-in formalities, you can get refreshed and get some rest to overcome the tiresome long-haul flight, perhaps!

    In the evening, a short briefing session will be held to familiarize you all about your upcoming trips.

  • Day 2 Kathmandu – Rasuwagadhi/Kyirong border – Kyirong town: 2800m/ 168Km, 7-8 hours’ drive

    Morning scenic drive from Kathmandu to Rasuwagadhi/Kyirong (Nepal-Tibet) border passing through Nepalese countryside landmarks, waterfalls, forests, etc. We arrive at the border and our guide will assist in completing all the necessary immigration formalities in both Nepalese and Tibet borders. After completion, we will continue our drive to Kyirong town (20Km) and check-in at the hotel.

  • Day 3 Kyirong – Pekutso – New Tingri (Shegar): 4050m/270Km

    Today, after breakfast, a journey to New Tingri (Shegar) will begin with a drive. We will pass by the most sacred cave of Milarepa Yogi which dates back to the 11th century and also the birthplace of Milarepa. Continue to drive through Gongthang La Pass at the elevation of over 5000m. Then drive along Pekutso lake and continue to Old Tingri at the distance of around 100Km from Pekutso. The scenery is extremely beautiful with Shisha Bangma snow mountain on the right and Pekutso on the left. During pleasant weather, one can enjoy the view of Mt. Everest on the way to Old Tingri. We continue to drive on the friendship highway and reach New Tingri after one-hour.

  • Day 4 Shegar – Everest Base Camp (EBC) – Shigatse (3950m): 3900m /240Km

    After breakfast at the hotel, we leave at around 9:30 am and drive through the highest mountain pass Gyatso La (5200m), Tsola (4500m) and through beautiful villages. Along the road, we take a right turn southward towards Everest Base Camp (EBC). At first, we will drive to the north side base of EBC up to Rongbuk and visit Rongbuk Monastery (4980m), the highest monastery in the world also known as Dzarongpu or Dzarong, from where we will start our hiking to the Everest Base Camp (5200m). After enjoying the gorgeous mountain range and Mt. Everest, we track back to Rongbuk and drive to Shigatse. En route, we will have a sightseeing visit to Tashilhumpu Monastery.

  • Day 5 Shigatse – Gyantse: 3950m/90Km

    After breakfast, we around 9 AM, we begin our drive to Gyantse. Have lunch in Gyangtse and then visit Palchoe monastery and Kubum Pagoda. In the afternoon, explore the old town of Gyantse.

  • Day 6 Gyantse – Yamdrok lake – Lhasa: 3650m/270Km

    Around 9 AM, after breakfast, we drive towards Lhasa via 3 big mountain passes, Simila, Karo La, Kampa La, respectively. Karo La is the highest pass among them (5000m) with its most beautiful glaciers, beautiful Yamdrok lake emerged as coral color from the top of Kampa La pass. Lunch at Nakartse, which is just between the Yamdrok lake and Karola glaciers. Continue drive to Lhasa.

  • Day 7 Sightseeing in Lhasa (3,600m)

    After breakfast, we will have a full day sightseeing tour in Lhasa. This tour includes Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Bazar, Potala Palace (3700m), etc. Leisure in the evening.
